About us

Habiter l'Estran is a Belgian non-profit organisation that aims to raise public awareness of the degradation of heritage sites due to climate change. Founded in 2025 by Antoine Kraewinkels, the association was also created to share his work on heritage conservation and environmental management with the public.

Our first project is to produce a documentary film in the Mediterranean Sea between November 2025 and February 2026. The project involves exploring heritage sites by sailboat and meeting climate scientists, historic site managers, and citizens from Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Our values

Habiter l'Estran has opened a bank account with VDK, a bank that is based on ethical and sustainable principles.

« The investments that we make as a bank and those that we advise and propose to you only go to companies and public authorities that take human and environmental aspects into consideration. This means that your money is not invested in oil extraction, arms production or child labour, but in companies that are sensitive to human and labour rights, social inclusion, the climate and nature. »

Pacifism

By raising public awareness of the impact of climate change on heritage, Habiter l'Estran is helping to create a more peaceful and just world. Our association aims to share the different cultural narratives surrounding a single monument.

Environnementalism

Habiter l'Estran embodies a strong sense of heritage alongside pro-environmental values. This constant tension sometimes requires us to make choices. However, this is also a strength as we try to bring together a diverse public through our association's projects.
